Just a dream!

I was one of my closest friends who said to me one day "Kerry, would you rather get to your nineties regretting never having a go at your dream (Truly Madly Diva at her very early idea stages) or get to your nineties realising at least you'd had a go..? After all, whats the worst that could happen?" I guess we're all afraid of failing... I replied sheepishly with "I could fail"  This was my friend standing in her successful dream....her shop, asking me to take a chance to forget my fears and just go for it! I'll never forget her reply, "Yes, that's true you could fail but what you make is gorgeous so I don't think you will!" And she totally had a massive reassuringly smug grin on her face...

I think for a shy person it can be very tough to put ourselves out there, on show to everyone.. after all we've all heard people being critical about a person or more specifically something on sale in a shop! I think when you create something you put a certain amount of yourself into it, a little bit of your soul and the last thing you want is to be rejected! Well this is a little embarrassing... it's taken me a year to write this post! I wonder if that's a record ;) I've now set up a shop on Folksy;  https://beta.folksy.com/shops/TrulyMadlyDiva  - please feel free to have nose, share, pin etc.

My other news is that I've been accepted on a herbal medicine degree course and become a qualified Herbalist which has always been my ultimate dream! Just need to get the £6500 per year tuition fees together.

Good luck with fulfilling your own dreams,
Big hugs xx

New Beginnings!

Hi!

My name is Kerry, I live in the Fens (Cambridgeshire) and I'm starting up my own company called Truly Madly Diva :)

For years I have loved the challenge of creating items of jewellery, learning new crafts like knitting and using herbalism to make cosmetics! Over the years I have taught myself many crafts and impressed my family and friends... I wouldn't be here if they hadn't encouraged me into taking things a step further... bless 'em! There's been so many steps to getting this far, each of them scary but super exciting (including this one ;) ) because each one means I'm getting closer and closer to my ultimate goal of going full time doing something I love to earn a living; because it's something I believe in and something I feel proud of.... so I wanted to share with you!

I still have a massive list of things to do! And I have a feeling 'my list' is only growing larger as I type this, although now I can tick this one off... ;) Watch this space for more updates!!!

I've left you with a picture of one of my favourite pieces of jewellery that I recently made... its been made from paper beads sourced from a women's co-op in Uganda. I LOVE rainbows!!

And I couldn't resist to put a picture of my favourite brooch (at the top!) made from multicoloured felt and had stitched with wool.

Thanks for taking an interest, enjoy and I hope you have a fantastic rest of the week!

Hugs,

Kerry xx
